The CAD / CAM certificate program certifies the drawing and modelling skills that design offices and manufacturing units test for: 2D drafting, 3D part modelling, assemblies and preparing parts for CNC.
Jalandhar's hand-tool, sports-goods and auto-parts industry hires for exactly these skills. The final assessment is a drawing set you produce from a real component.

Design offices rarely work in a single software package. A drawing may start in AutoCAD, be modelled in SolidWorks, and be exchanged with a client who uses CATIA or Creo. This program teaches AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo and Revit in one structured sequence, so learners understand how the packages relate to each other instead of treating each as a separate subject.
A drawing is judged by its accuracy and its presentation. Layers, linetypes, dimensioning, tolerances, title blocks and print scale are checked on every submission throughout the course. This habit of producing drawings to standard is often what separates a trained draughtsman from someone who only knows the commands.
The course begins with 2D drafting discipline and then moves into 3D parts, assemblies and production drawings. Learning in this order helps students understand why a 3D model is built the way it is, and how views, sections and dimensions on a drawing are derived from it.
A design is only useful if it can be manufactured. The program introduces how a finished model is prepared for CNC machining — stock, tools, toolpaths, simulation and G-code basics — so learners understand what happens to a drawing after it leaves the design office.
CAD software is best learned by drawing, not by watching. Each class is spent on a lab computer working through drawings and models, with the trainer checking work at the desk. Repeated practice on different components builds the speed and confidence that interviews and practical tests look for.
Jalandhar's hand-tool, sports-goods, auto-parts and fabrication units, along with local architects and civil contractors, regularly need people who can read and produce drawings. Practice components and building plans in the course are chosen to resemble the work these employers actually do.
Students leave with a printed and digital portfolio of drawings, part models, assemblies and a building plan. A portfolio gives an employer something concrete to assess and gives the learner specific work to talk about in an interview.
The course starts with engineering drawing fundamentals — projections, views, scales and dimensioning — before any advanced software topic. Learners who have not studied engineering drawing before can follow along, while those who have can move through the first module faster.
CAD / CAM skills are not tied to one job title. They are useful for draughtsman, CAD operator, design trainee, architectural assistant and CNC-support roles, and for people who run or work in a family fabrication or manufacturing business.
This program is delivered by Techcadd in Jalandhar, combining structured course content with daily lab practice, so learners leave with usable drafting and modelling skills rather than only certificate-level familiarity.
The program follows a logical path — engineering drawing basics, AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD 3D, SolidWorks parts, assemblies and drawings, CATIA and Creo, Revit, CAM basics and finally standards and portfolio work. Each stage builds on the one before, which makes a large syllabus manageable.
Beginners often get stuck on small things — an under-defined sketch, a failed feature, a wrong mate or a drawing that prints at the wrong scale. Having a trainer available during practice means these problems are explained and corrected as they arise instead of becoming a reason to give up.
The lab runs licensed or education-licensed installations, and students are shown the legitimate student versions they can install at home for extra practice. Learners are encouraged to practise outside class, because consistent practice matters as much as instruction.
Morning, evening and weekend batches make it possible for college students, ITI trainees and working technicians to attend regularly. Consistent attendance is important in a six-month program where each module depends on the previous one.
After this course, learners can go deeper into a single area — advanced SolidWorks, CNC programming, dedicated CAM packages, or building-design tools such as Revit and structural software — with the fundamentals already in place.
The diploma is issued after a practical modelling and drafting assessment, not for attendance alone. Completing a software course does not by itself guarantee employment, but learners who finish with sound fundamentals, a checked portfolio and regular practice are in a much stronger position when they apply.

You build these yourself in class. They become your portfolio and part of your assessment.
Project 01
Draft a set of machine-component drawings in AutoCAD with correct layers, dimension styles, title block and plot scale, and print them to PDF.
Project 02
Model a gearbox component in SolidWorks and produce a fully dimensioned production drawing with sections and tolerances.
Project 03
Build a multi-part assembly with correct mates, an exploded view and a bill of materials, and prepare its assembly drawing.
Project 04
Create a two-bedroom house model in Revit with plans, elevations, sections and a sheet set.
Project 05
Take one of your own parts through CAM: define the stock and tools, create and simulate toolpaths, and review the generated G-code.
Project 06
Assemble your checked drawings, models and assemblies into a printed and digital portfolio for interviews.
Section 06
The certificate is issued only after you pass. Pass mark: 55% overall, with at least 45% in the drawing set.

ITI, diploma or 10+2 with maths is enough. Engineering drawing basics are covered in the first module.
Every certificate carries a registration number. An employer can call the institute or email us that number and we confirm your name, the program, the modules completed and your result from our records.
You get one free re-test within 30 days. The trainer tells you which parts fell short and books extra lab time before the re-test so you can practise them.
